LINUX System Administrator, Intermediate to Senior
Position based in our Brussels Headquarters, Belgium.
Elysium³ is the premier provider of Online Direct Marketing Solutions and has the most avanced technology in that domain. We are looking for intermediate to senior level System Administrator to help create and maintain the Linux clusters that power Elysium³'s technologies.
The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, has the ability to handle interrupts while fluidly switching between several projects, and takes a "work smarter, not harder" approach.
Join an administration team responsible for managing a mixed network running Redhat Linux on Sun and IBM/HP/Compaq servers/workstations. As this environment continues to grow, and more applications are ported onto Linux, we seek a Sr. Linux admin to work on all aspects of administering a mixed Linux mission critical 24x7 trading environment. You would work closely with the real-time trading systems developers and end-users.
Your responsibilities would include traditional administration responsibilities to advanced data warehousing, firewalls, networking, performance tuning, optimization and application administration issues. Be involved in a complete build out of the unix/linux infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Configure system and network parameters.
- Rapidly scale system to meet demand.
- Monitor stability and performance.
- Train/mentor junior System Administrators.
- Write comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure 24x7 operation.
Requirements:
-
BS or MS in Computer Science.

3+ years experience with Linux.

Programming/scripting ability (php, bourne, perl, C).

Extensive knowledge of webservers, firewalls/security, NFS, DNS, NIS, MTAs.

Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and load balancing.
This is a Linux administration position. Candidates with less than 2 years of Linux admin experience will not be considered.
